In my last update (seen HERE) I showed you guys the recent purchases we got, along with providing a link to our "wish list". Well within the last few Disney trips we've been able to scoop up Chancellor Palpatine, a royal guard, and General Grievous to name a few. Overall there were 11 new Tsum Tsums, minus the ones that arrived today!
In celebration of Star Wars' 40th anniversary, Disney released 4 special edition micro Tsum Tsums (contrary to the original mini Tsum Tsums): R2D2, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo.
Something I appreciate about their "special edition" box sets, is that while they may resemble a previous Tsum Tsum (like how the Han Solo/Greedo set from the Comic Con event resembled the Han Solo and Greedo characters which were also released through the Disney store), they still alter them enough to want us to purchase them. Granted this is probably me just making excuses on why I purchased the box sets, but regardless I'm pleased with my purchase.
The recent released box set (the 40th anniversary set) came inside a mini Millennium Falcon style cardboard box, all lined up together (R2, Luke, Leia, Han).
In the picture you can see the difference between the "normal" mini Tsum Tsum's and this "micro set". The mini's are measured at 3 1/2", while the micro Tsum Tsum's are 2 1/2". Trust me you notice the difference when you're viewing them next to each other.
While I'm still holding out for Banthas Tsum Tsums, I'm quite pleased with how our collection is coming along. I truly do like how each batch is coming out almost every month, but I'm still curious as to how they would include characters that haven't been released in future releases (Maz for example). I guess only time will tell.
So far, good going Disney!
What kind of collection do you guys have? I'm not just a Tsum Tsum collector you know, I also collect Nancy Drew memorabilia along with the "yellow" hardback books and Murder She Wrote/Angela Lansbury memorabilia.
I'm also working on my record collection, but that's neither here nor there. Happy Monday Jedi's!
