Onto today's post!
Yesterday I was browsing Costco for their samples and bulk items, when one of the samples reeled me almost immediately. It was tri-tip. But not just any tri-tip, pre-seasoned steakhouse tri-tip.
This specific meat was a little over $5 a pound and for my package I paid less than $17 for a hunk of deliciousness. You can choose to cook it either in the oven or on the BBQ. I personally didn't feel like firing up the grill, so oven it was. And oh was it ever so delicious.
In total time it took 50 minutes to cook the entire block of tri-tip, which left us with a medium-rare dinner. I paired it with buttered broccoli and mashed potatoes.
The meat was seasoned with a peppercorn styled flavor, along with numerous other spices that are beyond perfect together. With practically no work at all, the meat came out stupendously tender. I was truly surprised by the amount juice that still came out of each bite (no not blood) and just how tender the entire block indeed was.

With minor preparation, we had a wonderful meal filled with goodies galore for under $25 dollars ($2 for the potatoes and $3 for the broccoli)! Best part is there was so much meat left over from yesterday's dinner, we had plenty to make sandwiches for today AND tomorrow! Steak and eggs are also on the menu for tomorrow's breakfast, which is always a family favorite!
I highly recommend buying this meat for a dinner worth bragging about. It's so good, people will think you're a master in the kitchen!
Happy Friday everyone and I hope your weekend is fantastic! Much love to you all and I'll update you more on the event next week. For now, I'm off to bed after a job well done.
