While I definitely don't think you should definitively believe in the story I'm about to tell you, I do think it's something worth sharing in hopes it will either give me answers into what happened or connect with some of you who may have a similar story.
I believe in the super natural - among other things. It doesn't mean you have to, but I do think it will make a good story.
Ever since I was a baby, I had gone to a babysitter - who I naturally named Grandma. She was a very close soul to me and I cherished her beyond a worded explanation as to why. I still admire her and our time together - may she rest in peace - but today isn't directly linked to her, so much as it is her house.
At the age of 10 or 11, myself and my Grandma's great grand-daughter (who we will call Sarah) were getting ready to take an impromptu swimming trip for the day. I myself didn't have a bathing suit, so I borrowed one of Sarah's.
After I had changed into my bathing suit, I walked over by the front door. That's when it happened, but before I jump into the details, I need to set the scene.
My Grandma's house was a semi-odd layout. When you walked in from the front door, you were given two options. Go straight to a "dead end" (you'd have to go left for the living room or right for the hallway/bedrooms) or turn left immediately after entering and stand in the kitchen.
Across the kitchen, more often than not you'd find Grandma sitting in her chair at the dining table. One wall separated the kitchen and living room.
During this experience, Grandma was sitting in her chair facing the front door, where I was standing at this time. It was almost immediately after I reached the front door, that I was looking at myself while standing next to Grandma in the dining room.
Somehow, someway, I had "transported" (for lack of a better word) mentally to Sarah, who was standing next to Grandma. I could see myself through her eyes, staring myself down. I could hear the whispers Grandma was telling Sarah (asking her to grab a few dollars from her secret drawer for ice-cream later).
For the life of me, I couldn't tell you what happened or even what I said to Sarah's cousin (who was by the front door, talking to me), because mentally I wasn't there.
How do I know that I heard correctly about Grandma's whispers? Within seconds of hearing the whispers and somehow answering "ok" involuntarily, I "transported" back to my body almost in a stunned state. When I glanced over to Sarah, I saw her jolt off to Grandma's bedroom down the hall.
I don't know what her state of mind was, nor have I ever discussed this with her. For all I know, I could've had a temporary paralysis with a heightened sense of hearing. To be honest though, I don't believe that statement for a second.
It was as if I was inside someone else's body, completely unable to make decisions, and stuck behind a screen watching the world take place. It was a short sense of living as a silhouette, but it was something that had impacted me to this day. I've had certain scenarios that closely resembled this instance, along with other unexplained happenings, but nothing that has duplicated this memory. Nothing that has stuck with me more.
I don't know what happened and I don't know why. Heck, I don't even know what you'd call it, but I do know that something went on that day. Also let it be known, that this day was the beginning of all my paranormal happenings. Perhaps that's why it started or perhaps that's why it burns in my brain so evidently. Regardless, I don't think it was a coincidence that after this "out of body experience", everything started happening.
So Jedi's, tell me this: Have you ever had any experience like this? If so, please let me know. I'd love to hear your stories and know whether or not I'm alone in this.
Want to hear more "paranormal" styled stories? Leave a comment on my Instagram and I will happily supply you with the "craziness" that has gone on. Trust me, things get strange.
