On Saturday I was lucky enough to head to our local Goodwill early morning, for some [hopefully] fresh finds with my padawan. While I didn't find very many items for my little guy (which is exactly why we went in the first place - don't worry, we found some elsewhere) I was able to find a few key items for myself. The best part? They were FREE! That's right, freaking free.
Sort of. But before I get into that, let's see what exactly I found! Also, if you're looking to dive into the world of thrifting or simply want to better you're experience, check out my post about how to successfully shop at thrift stores.
First for the tops (left to right):

Next up was a turquoise Nike "muscle tee" styled shirt, perfect for the hot up coming days. The only "odd" part is that it's a bit warmer material, somewhat like a sweat shirt. Which in a way makes sense since it's [probably] a sports shirt for working out in. However I plan on wearing this for beach days, adventure days, or even errand days. It came out to $2.99, most likely because it was a popular brand.
Another "muscle tee" style shirt that I purchased, was an off brand white t-shirt with a really pretty "sunset" colored print on the front. With sunflowers blended into the mix, it reminded me of the summer season quickly approaching and the spring season that is now upon us. It came out to only $0.99 and I couldn't be happier with it!
My last shirt is a longer styled, 3/4 sleeved shirt with "lace" stitching on the front. It's very airy and light, making it still suitable for the hot days (and not so hot days). The reason I love this $1.99 shirt, isn't just because of the color - if you can't tell, I love almost any combination of blue and green - but also because it provides additional coverage for when I'm wearing leggings. No I'm not prancing around with see thru leggings, but sometimes modesty is my goal while still being comfortable. This helps me to achieve that along with a stylish look.
I also purchased a pair of shorts for $2.99, because after realizing that I only owned one pair of light colored jean shorts, I desperately hoped I'd find a well fitting pair. That's exactly what I got with these. The only downside is they need to be re-ironed, because the fold is "off", but it's a simple fix that I don't have an issue with. Plus, they fit perfectly and are going to be needed for the heat that I'm sure is going to be present this year.
I also purchased two dresses - both $1.99, can you believe it?!
I wanted a nice dress for any parties or church events that I will be attending (the white dress with navy blue flowers printed on it) and a spring/summer dress for casual dates, daytime adventures, or a dressier day (the turquoise dress with multi colored flowers).
Both are form fitting with plenty of loose flow, while still giving me a complimenting figure. They are also a good length - again for modesty reasons - without making me look like a complete prude (no judgment or offense).

Personally I fell in love with both of them for a multitude of reasons, but another big one is that they both look good with converse and/or heels. Versatility is key with this momma.
Overall I paid about $15, making this an excellent day. But wait, there's more!
While I was browsing the aisles, I came across one particular NON clothing item that not only paid for my entire purchase, but also left me with a little spending money. All without leaving the store.
It was a stroke of luck and genius combined. Want to know how I got everything for free and a little extra side cash from inside Goodwill? Come back tomorrow for a secret tool I've learned and how you too can walk out with clothes and cash!
